Insurance FAQs

Do you work with my insurance company?

We work with every insurance company. See a sample list of our insurance partners.

Do I pay you for repairs or does my insurance company?

Stymeist Collision Centers work with your insurance company for payment. You are only responsible to pay the deductible if you have one. If applicable, you also will need to pay any betterment. (If your vehicle is being repaired with newer parts, your insurance company may not pay for the "betterment." For example, if your vehicle's muffler is five years old, your insurance company would have to replace it with a five-year old muffler. If a five-year old muffler can't be found, the repair shop could use a new muffler, but you'd have to pay the difference.)

Can I choose where to get my car repaired?

You have the legal right to have your car fixed at the shop of your choice. You may bring your car to us for repair regardless of your insurance company. With our 30 years of experience and top-rated reputation, our highly trained technicians, advanced equipment and great customer service, you'll be happy you did.

What about the process of making a claim and all that paperwork?

Once you have initiated a claim with your insurance company, simply bring your car to one of our facilities. We will take over the insurance claims process and relieve you of these details. This is our job and we do it very well.

Do I need more than one estimate?

No. You have the right to have your car repaired at the shop of your choice, regardless of your insurance carrier.

What if your estimate is higher than someone else?

Probably, because of our years of experience, that means we were more thorough in our inspection of your damage. Typically, a “cheaper” estimate means a required repair was overlooked. Our charges for repair are in line with every other body shop. Every insurance company will work with our damage estimate.

My insurance company said I had to go to one of their shops.

We have worked with all the major insurance companies for 30 years. You have the right to choose your repair facility. Call us or come in and we will call and work with your insurance company. We have been doing this for 30 years and most of our customers are repeat customers or referrals. Choose a facility that works for you!

My insurance company says I have to go to one of their facilities to get the inspection first.

Why should you have to be inconvenienced? We will arrange your drop off, inspection and work with your insurance inspector to assure a proper repair and thorough detailed estimate. Call us first and we'll take care of everything.

I was in an accident where the other person who hit me doesn't want to go through insurance.

This is common. Call us and we will help protect you through this process. We take digital photos before, during and after the repair, can arrange a rental quote prior to drop off for the other party and assist you in payment arrangements. If you keep everything clear up front and both parties co-operate, this can work out fine. Let us help you make sure this works out or help you understand when it's best to go through your insurance company, and let them assist you with us.
